ECOFARM CABO VERDE– PRODUÇÃO E COMÉRCIO DE PRODUTOS AGRÍCOLAS, LDA, is a project based on the production of 100% Organic food certificated from seed to final product. An agricultural farm with 2.5 ha (22.500 sqm) on Santo Antão island and 1.5 ha (16.000 sqm) on São Vicente Island for organic farming which will be based on high-tech irrigation and soil control. Our focus is population Food Security, based entirely on fruits and vegetables from our land with low prices.
Promote organic farming in Cabo Verde, providing ways to help consumers make the best environmental and nutritional choices. Our focus is population Food Security, based entirely on fruits and vegetables from our land with low prices. We are focused in water quality and quantity, efficient irrigation, pressure and flow management, ecosystems protection, and drought management. For us, it is imperative to maximize water use efficiency through: (i) more rational use, involving improved management of water abstraction, storage and distribution systems and the use of irrigation methods and techniques suited to water scarcity and crops (e.g. reducing water losses in parcels, by runoff and evaporation).
ECOFARM CABO VERDE started a series of steps in 2022 to be able to install, still in 2023, a small Agro-Environmental Education and Sustainable Agriculture Centre / ECOFARM CABO VERDE - "Júlio Augusto Leite", to carry the message of a Sustainable Environment. we are committed to giving young people a taste for agriculture. The objective of this project is to fit and professionally train a possible number of young people in ECOFARM CABO VERDE, giving them a secure and dignified job with a future both locally and abroad. For that, we have in development an extended Training Programme - Project to Promote Social and Productive Inclusion - ProFISP: INCLUIR PARA TRANSFORMAR on the Agro-Environmental Education and Sustainable Agriculture Centre / ECOFARM CABO VERDE, LDA With the objective/methodology of intervention with families in order to introduce sustainable agriculture and Agro-food processing techniques. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To improve the socio-economic conditions of women beneficiaries through training aimed at self-employment or employment in ECOFARM.
